Bull Elk Mammoth Hot Springs by Robert Nelson, Pastel, 6 x 8

Bull Elk Mammoth Hot Springs

Medium: Pastel on Paper
Size: 6 x 8
Availability: Sold

A dirt road runs one-way downhill from Mammoth to Gardiner and for fun, I decided to take it. It's actually the original road used by the Army and NPS when the Park was first established. It's pretty decent road and, happily, populated with wildlife and nice views. This bull, backlit by morning sun, was grazing quite unconcerned about me and my truck. Mt. Everts in the background.
